FAQ's
How does the IPL hair removal device work?
The Esskyn hair removal device uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to get rid of unwanted hair. It emits a broad spectrum of light that is absorbed by the hair follicle, turning into heat. This heat damages the follicle, stopping it from growing new hair. With regular sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, the device reduces hair density and thickness. It's commonly used on larger body areas like legs, arms, back, and the bikini area.
What are the treatments that Esskyn IPL is used for?

How does the Esskyn IPL device work on brown spots?
The Esskyn IPL device works on brown spots by using intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. The device emits a broad spectrum of light that is selectively absorbed by the pigmented cells in the brown spots. The absorbed light is then converted into heat, which damages the pigmented cells, causing them to break down and eventually disappear over time.
How does Esskyn IPL get rid of broken capillaries on the face?
The Esskyn IPL device can effectively reduce the appearance of broken capillaries on the face by using intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. The device emits a broad spectrum of light that is selectively absorbed by the blood vessels in the skin, causing them to heat up. This heat damages the blood vessels, causing them to constrict and eventually fade away over time. A series of treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results, as the damaged blood vessels will slowly fade away over time. The exact number of treatments required can vary depending on the severity of the broken capillaries, the individual’s skin type, and other factors.

Yes, our Esskyn IPLs home device is perfectly safe as long as you use them in the prescribed manner and on the right type of skin and hair.

2.For facial treatment, ensure a clean, dry face without any creams or oils before IPL use.
3.Choose the right energy level for your skin and hair type. Gradually increase from one to five if there's no discomfort.
4.Avoid flashing the device multiple times on the same skin area to prevent excessive heat and potential swelling.
5.Use home IPL machines on healthy skin only. Avoid using on moles, if you have diabetes, undergoing chemotherapy, using photosensitive drugs, or if you're epileptic. Consult your doctor before using IPL if you're on certain medications.
Who can use IPL hair removal – is it just for women?

The device has two application modes: Stamp mode and Glide mode. Stamp mode is for small and bony areas that are more difficult to treat (e.g. knees, armpits). Place the appliance on the skin, just press and flash, then move your hand to the next close area which should be treated.
Glide mode is to treat larger areas (e.g. legs). Place the appliance against your skin, while holding the flash button pressed throughout the application – just slide the appliance and it will flash as you go. This makes the treatment of large areas easier and faster.
What results can I expect?
If your treatments are consistent, you will achieve long-lasting, smooth and hair-free skin. Just bear in mind that it will take multiple treatments in order for you to start seeing results – it takes time. This is because our hair follicles are on their own individual growth cycles. But we promise you will see the remarkable results which bring a smile to your face.
Is IPL suitable for all skin and hair types?
IPL is usually not suitable for darker skin tones, because there is much more melanin in the skin that the light will target and heat up. This causes pain and can damage your skin. This device has built-in touch and skin tone tester & adjustable flash-strength, adaptable to your skin type.
The darker your hair colour, the better, because dark hair has lots of dark melanin pigment. It’s this that the light targets and heats it up to damage the follicle to stop hair growth. Since blonde, grey and white hairs do not contain any or enough melanin, IPL treatments will never work on these hair colours. Red hair contains a different type of melanin which is not responsive to IPL
Should I remove facial hair before using IPL?
As with the body, it is important when using IPL that the light energy is channelled into the hair follicles on your body in the most efficient way. This can be done by shaving.

It is safe to use Esskyn 3IN1done in your legs, arms, or even metal plates in the chest…

How does it work? Light energy is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.
Some small capillaries and veins disappear suddenly. However, 1-7 treatments are needed, one treatment every week. Some capillaries and veins are more visible after the treatment which is a sign that they are destroyed and they will disappear within a few weeks.
There are 5 energy levels to adapt to a wide range of different treatments (rough and aging skin, dim skin, big pores, wrinkles, lack of elasticity and radiance). You can gradually increase the energy level from one to five If there isn’t any intolerable pain or reaction of any kind

What is the difference or wavelength of the hair removal vs skin rejuvenation and acne clearance FAUSINA 3IN1 lamp
The wavelength for Esskyn 3in1 lamps as follows:
Hair Removal: 530 ~ 1100nm, Skin rejuvenation: 560 ~ 1100nm, Acne treatment:400 ~ 700 nm.
Power: 3.5 – 5.1 j/cm²
Besides the wavelengths, energy flow j/cm² there are many factors to more selectively target desired cellular or structural elements including pulse sequences, pulse duration, pulse delay time, filtration which is used for each treatment.
How does the Esskyn IPL device get rid of brown spots on your face?
SR mode for Esskyn 3IN1 IPL helps treat brown spots by selectively heating up the pigment, Then, the heated damaged area will be lifted to the surface of the skin where it is removed by the skin’s natural exfoliation process. The immediate endpoint from IPL treatment of dyschromia should be visible darkening of the treated brown spots. These typically crust over 24 to 48 hours and peel off within seven days. This process can be accelerated by applying a moisturizer twice a day or by performing microdermabrasion of the treated area 1 to 2 days following treatment
What is the application of light-based technology for hair removal?
IPL is using melanin as the target chromophore. Since melanin is found in the hair follicle epithelium as well as throughout the epidermis, it is important to selectively target the pigment deposits inside the hair shafts while leaving the epidermal melanin aggregates untouched.
Once melanin absorbs the light energy, it is transformed into thermal energy causing necrosis of the hair follicle. The hair follicle in the anagen phase is the most responsive to this treatment, given the fact that the hair shaft contains the largest amount of melanin
Can you compare the Esskyn 3IN1 IPL device with other big machines that are used in clinics?
Esskyn 3IN1 is an IPL for home use, besides the wavelengths, energy flow j/cm² there are many factors (e.g. pulse duration, pulse delay time, pulse sequences and filtration which is used for each treatment) to compare with those professional devices with used in clinics or offices.
Esskyn IPL can selectively target desired cellular or structural elements and it proves it can be used for removing FACIAL hyperpigmentation also very effective for permanent hair removal, acne clearance, stimulating collagen and facial rejuvenation, BUT it is not fair to compare it (for particular functions) with those big machines which are used in clinics.
For how long should you stop using topical skin treatments (i.e. Retin A, Vitamin B, or AHA) prior to using my Esskyn IPL for skin rejuvenation?
For some treatments, the patient may use rinse-off or AHA medicines with concentrations greater than 30% and a pH less than 3.0 which are considered to present an irritation risk if followed by IPL treatments without leaving enough time. We recommend to some customers that products containing AHA are stopped more than FOUR WEEKS before starting IPL treatment. While we suggest to some other customers, who use medicines with AHA concentrations no greater than 10% at pHs no less than 3.5, that it should be stopped safely ONE WEEK before the IP treatment.
Furthermore, we recommend you avoid the products taken orally that contain multivitamins, and Vitamin B. These should be ceased for 5-7 days prior to the treatment (if these supplements have been advised by your GP please check with your GP before stopping them).
Should I use a conductive gel?
No need for conductive gel. You will need to make sure your skin is clean and free from any water, creams, and oils prior to using Esskyn IPL. After each and every treatment apply a soothing cream to let the skin cool down and to help avoid any skin irritation
Will it also work on the broken capillaries on my legs?
The Esskyn IPL with the Skin Rejuvenation lamp is very effective in treating facial broken capillaries. However, the Skin Rejuvenation treatments with a home-use IPL on the feet and ankles area will not have the same outcome. The reason is due to the thickness of facial skin being different from the thickness of body skin, and the treatments, in this case, need a stronger device in energy like those devices used in the physician’s office. However, we advise that you visit your dermatologist to determine the underlying condition and can figure out your best mode of treatment
What is the energy level (or fluence), in J/cm² of each of the 5 levels?
Esskyn 3IN1 IPL comes with power levels 1-5 (3.5J/4.0J/4.5J/4.7J/5.1J) / cm² and 3.9 cm ² Spot Size or 19.89 joules for the lamp window. This puts Esskyn IPL on top of the similar home-use IPLs in the market.
